Chipped Shard

Oh small chipped broken piece of glass

You must’ve been tossed and smashed by someone

Who drunk themselves to heaven, and thew the bottle aching

Fragmented from your whole, you sit on the side of the road

In the middle of nowhere

Now climbing a hill but to you it’s a mountain

Do you get thirsty? Reminded of what you contained

Now you’re covered in dust and sand

A rock or two thrown your way

Did you think this would happen to you?

Watching as cars go by, you seem a little shy

But the sun shines down on you and makes you bright

Maybe one day someone will pick you up you chipped piece of glass

And make a gem out of you

To give you to someone with class
