What Have You Done, And Where Will You Go?

What have you done

To propel yourself in the world thus far

Have you faltered on your journey?

Fatigue plagues us all

Self-doubt and self-hatred?

Two sides of the same coin

But can be spent

And exchanged for something better

Have you fallen on your knees

And become good friends with the land?

There’s no shame in that

As even farmers and gardeners

Rest with the land they nurture

So too, will the land nurture us

Once we are laid to rest

A baby falls to learn how to walk

And the old one reflects

On where they have walked

If you’re not done yet

And can still feel your toes

Then ask yourself

Where will you go?
